Edgar Sawtelle was born a mute using only sign language to communicate. He leads a very simple lifestyle with his parents on their farm in the hills of Wisconsin's northern region. For many decades the family has raised and bread a fictional breed of dogs, who became Edgar's lifelong friend and ally.
